The Number One Gathering For Forward–Looking Credit Unions.

Dear credit union leader,

Talking about market uncertainty is getting old, so let’s not do it. There are still over 7,000 credit unions in the U.S. and they’re all making loans, serving members and trying to figure out how best they can fit in this new, regulation-clogged, unpredictable market.

So, what should credit unions do? The better question is: What should your credit union do? Credit unions all have different strengths and, as community lenders, they have profiles as varied as the communities they serve. Your solution may look nothing like any other credit union’s.

But you do need a solution. Our industry – and the entire financial services industry – is changing too quickly. If you want your credit union to be relevant to your members today and tomorrow, you need to know what you do well, what you don’t and what you might have to change. You’ll need as much insight and useful information as you can get.

That’s where we come in. This is the 35th anniversary of The National Directors’ Convention and what we’re planning is going to be bigger than ever. You’ll definitely see that in our content, which is more muscular and more relevant than anything we’ve done before. You can count on us to get you the information and insight you need to lead your credit union. At this year’s convention, you’ll find some familiar faces, including Tim Harrington, Ben Rogers and Patrick Adams. You’ll also hear from a whole host of new voices, too, like BancVue’s Don Shafer (on young consumers’ demands for better electronic banking services) and CU Toolbox’s Sue Woodard (who’ll talk about the potential in credit union marketing).

This is also the first year we’re offering CEO-dedicated content. We’ve had plenty of sessions in years past that were designed for directors, but also had plenty to offer CEOs. This year, we’re adding a few sessions pitched at the CEO’s level (though directors are certainly welcome to attend, too). Look out for sessions on the value proposition of Enterprise Risk Management, on pairing risk mitigation and strategic planning, and the pros and cons of charter change.

You’ll get all this, plus outsized entertainment featuring the one and only Smokey Robinson and the unparalleled networking opportunities you’ve come to expect from us. It’s all here at The National Directors’ Convention, the number one gathering for forward-looking credit unions.

Sincerely, Aaron Steinberg, Convention Chairman, The National Directors’ Convention
